Rainbow Lake has some special qualities about it that we hope you may
appreciate. We are not Disney World… We are Carolina Blue Mountain
Country. Our roads are gravel and there are dogwoods and rhododendron,
mountain laurel, waterfalls and wild geese. The nearby East Fork of
the French Broad River is one of the cleanest, clearest mountain
rivers you’ll ever experience…or fish. We are at the headwaters of one
of the oldest rivers systems on earth in an area that has retained its
primal beauty.
You can also touch the sky at Shining Rock Wilderness – a pure white
quartz outcropping at the top of one of the highest mountains around
and we are centrally located to 5 State parks as well as the Pisgah
National Forest. This area is famous for biking, rock climbing, hiking
and its numerous waterfalls. Brevard is slowly becoming the mountain
sports and biking capital of North Carolina. Furthermore a new 8,000
acre State Forest, The East Fork Headwaters, will be established here
shortly just up the road.
Nearby Activities
Our guests have access to the Brevard Athletic Club, only ten minutes away,for a small per person fee. It offers 5 gyms, 2 pools, tennis courts, steam, sauna, Jacuzzi, and more. Racquetball, massage, facials and full day spa amenities are available for additional fees.
There are also several golf courses within a ten minute drive that welcome visitors. Asheville, with its famed Biltmore House and renowned music, arts and healing activities, is just 50 minutes away. With the Brevard Music Center and the Brevard College Porter Center, there's plenty of music at your fingertips. The surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains are filled with outstanding hiking and mountain biking trails, as well as horseback riding. The forest here is classified as a temperate rain forest, so there is a terrific number of breathtaking waterfalls which are yours to behold on a guided waterfall tour. There is nothing more beautiful than a wedding ceremony surrounded by
rippling waters and green mountain scenery. Natural beauty enhances
any event and we have strived to make natural beauty an integral part
of your experience. In addition many of our past brides have
contributed decorations and improvements to our facilities that are to
be enjoyed by future brides. We welcome you to join the happy family
