Rainbow Lake Resort has many features that will make any wedding memorable. Our ceremony island in the middle of the lake is approached by an arched footbridge. The centerpiece of the island is a 14ft elevated gazebo with a small raised dais at the entrance where the bride and groom can take their vows. We supply a white aisle runner that can be used to cover the existing paved pathway, and we can supply an optional shade/rain tent to protect attendees.

The ceremony can proceed in many ways. Usually the bride descends the steps of the wedding cottage (Cottage K) followed by the bridesmaids. If the swan float is used  the bridesmaids first promenade to the island, then the bride, her swan float escort and a flower girl board the SS Cleopatra, our solar powered wedding float, and quietly glide over to the wedding island amidst floating flower petals. The bride is then escorted from the dock behind the gazebo on to the island to meet the waiting groom. After the ceremony the bride and groom board the swan boat and proceed "off into the distance" where, at the far end of the lake, they can spend a few quiet moments in private before they return to the awaiting crowd and festivities.

We’ve tried to build a little dream world here that we hope will help put some magic in to your wedding. We’re coming along nicely and each wedding we have here adds to our (and your) enrichment. Each of our Brides and Grooms leave their mark here and all are encouraged to do so. The Gazebo, the Swan Float, the fountains, waterfalls, the natural beauty and the white soaring tents…all these things that will help make your event be as uplifting as possible. Come join the family of couples who we’ve been delighted to host.

There are many picturesque spots on the lake where group shots can be taken such as under the willow tree, on the arched bridge or by the fountain pond, The wedding ceremony itself can take place in several other locations besides the gazebo if the wedding party so chooses

The Ceremony Package and Fee

The ceremony basic package includes: use of the island and gazebo, white wedding seats, a large shade umbrella for musicians, a small boom box for electronic background music, electric power and a white aisle runner. The seats will be stacked and ready to be set up by the wedding party on the morning of the wedding. The fee for a ceremony is $500 (plus local taxes) as long as the reception is also held at Rainbow Lake.

Putting some Green into your Ceremony

There are several ways to incorporate green ideas into the ceremony if the wedding couple so chooses. We can help you incorporate environmentally-friendly jewelry, gowns, flowers, invitations and decorations in your event.

Ceremony Options Available

Bride and Groom Cottages: There is an 800 sq.ft bridal cottage (Cottage K) which has plenty of room for the bridal party and company. The groom's cottage (Cottage I), right up the hill from the bridal cottage is a bit smaller. These cottages can be rented for daily use or for overnight occupation. Local laws require that the minimum overnight stay is 2 nights. The cost of the cottages is not included in the basic wedding package.

Processional aisle runner option: The processional walk from the wedding party residence (Cottage K) to the bridge is a 200 ft grass path. If there is concern about damage to the wedding dress, a 36' white aisle runner is available for a cost of $100.

Rain and Shade tent options: we have a 30’x 30’ sculpted tent that can be erected to cover the seated guests. It can be quickly erected the day before the ceremony or around 10 am the morning of the wedding if either rainy or extremely hot weather is anticipated. The charge for this is $100.

The Swan Float Option: The Bride and her escort may walk to the bridge or may ride the swan float. The swan float is actually a 4 ft x 10 ft raft capable of carrying 6 adults. It is extremely stable. A standard electric trolling motor propels the float and is foot controlled by the escort. It noiselessly floats from a small dock in front of K to a dock behind the gazebo. The escort is a uniformed member of our staff who captains the float. Meanwhile a flower girl can be spreading rose petals into the water as the couple passes by the on looking crowd. Fee for use of swan float $100

Rehearsal dinner option: The wedding party can schedule a rehearsal dinner to be held in the pavilion the night before the wedding. The wedding party sets up the dinner chairs and tables and cleans up afterwards. Fee for rehearsal dinner: $200

Inclement weather option: If a constant downpour in anticipated then the ceremony is usually moved into the pavilion. The far end of the pavilion is used as a chapel, the sidewalls are lowered, decorative plants are brought in for decoration and the guests witness the wedding while seated at their tables. There is no cost for this service and the ceremony is not refunded.
